Something Borrowed {Portland} operates out of St. Johns Storage at 8190 N. Lombard on the corner of N. Richmond and Lombard.

In-person viewing of inventory items are available by appointment only.  To schedule time with us, please use our real-time online scheduling tool to make your appointment.  We typically schedule appointments Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s between 4pm and 8pm and Sunday’s between 11am and 3pm.

A 50% down payment and signed Rental Contract Agreement is required to reserve your event date and your requested items.  If these items are not received within fourteen (14) days of issue, your order will be cancelled.  Final payment is requested fourteen (14) days prior to the date of the event.  We accept cash, checks, Visa or MasterCard.

No.  When you arrive at your scheduled time to pick up your items, your items will be ready and packed to go.  Some items may be packed with bubble wrap, other items may not.  Return all original packaging materials such as totes, boxes and bubble wrap or a $5.00 per box fee will be assessed.

Since everything in our inventory is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, advanced reservations are recommended to ensure availability of our inventory.

Replacement costs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and the charges are in addition to the original rental price.

Yes, substitutions are allowed with a fourteen (14) day notice.  No substitutions are allowed within fourteen (14) days of the event.

Yes, you must clean any debris, dirt and visible marks left on the items, such as chalk, greasy fingerprints, flame residue, food, wax, tape, residue, etc. Click here to view our recommended cleaning and care instructions. A $2.00 per item cleaning fee will be assessed if items are not returned in their original state ($5.00 per chalkboard if liquid chalk is used on chalkboards).

Something Borrowed Portland operates out of St. Johns Storage at 8190 N. Lombard.  The storage unit is a drive-through, secured building that requires an access code to enter.  A representative of Something Borrowed Portland will meet you in the parking lot so that you can pull into the building with your vehicle for easier loading (drive through the garage-style doors).  Once inside, park at the end of the building on the right so as to not block the exit, just inside the building.  There are carts available to help with load/unloading but feel free to bring someone with you to help as needed as our liability prevents us from loading for you.

We will review the items you have reserved to ensure your order is complete and answer any questions you may have including a quick run-through of any special cleaning instructions.  Everything will be boxed and ready to go.

It shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes for the entire process, depending on how many items you are renting and what questions you may have.

We welcome orders of any size.  However, due to labor and handling costs, we do require a $20 minimum order.

Please be aware that once the contract is signed, and your event date scheduled, all other clients have been refused your specific rentals for your event date.   If you need to cancel your rental, please call or email us immediately so that we may issue you a refund as outlined below:

• 100% refund for orders cancelled prior to 30 days of event date.
• 50% refund for orders cancelled prior to 14 days of event date.
• 0% refund for orders cancelled less than 14 days of event date.

If items are returned late, 15% of the total rental fee will be charged for each day items are past due.  If items are not returned within three days, and the customer cannot be reached, replacement fees will be assessed and charged to the credit card on file.

Our sliding fee scale allows individuals (and/or couples) to receive services at a reduced cost. To be eligible for a sliding fee discount, you must complete the noted section on the reservation form. The information you provide will be used to determine the maximum discount to which you are eligible, which ranges from 0% to 90%.  No individual will be turned away for an inability to pay.  Eligibility for this program is based on total household annual income and need.

All order changes must be placed in writing, faxed or emailed as to avoid any confusion.  A detailed invoice will be submitted following any changes to your order by email or fax.  Substitutions are allowed with a fourteen (14) day notice.  No substitutions are allowed within fourteen (14) days of the event.

Simply contact us to see if the item(s) you want are available during the time frame you need them.

Weekend orders may be picked up on Thursday between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm and are due back on Monday between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.  We are closed weekends.

Weekday orders may be picked up the day before an event and are due back the day following.

If you have special circumstances, please call us to make arrangements.  Additional days incur additional rental fees without prior approval.

We keep our inventory updated and photo’s posted as soon as they are acquired.  However, sometimes this changes so quickly we are not able to post pictures as soon as we would like.  If you’re looking for something specific that we don’t have shown, please contact us for our most up to date information.

Our inventory consists of decor, props and dishes that are rustic, vintage, shabby chic, and garden/vineyard/outdoor inspired.  Examples include:
