Last week I was talking with a client who said that while DIY is great, its not always budget friendly. You have to buy the supplies and tools and after spending countless hours making and crafting, it can all add up! With that a light bulb went off – why not start a crafty library? Yes, a lending library for the DIY and craft-a-holics!
It seemed like a no-brainer! Make available items such as hole punches, paper cutters, stamps and anything else one would craft with. Within a day of posting it via our Facebook page, we already had one person donate! That paired with the collection I’ve been keeping at home (yet never using), we now have a great start to our crafty library!
How Does the Crafty Library it Work?
Items are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be loaned for a duration of one week. In order to add to the library and cover maintenance fees, a small donation of $5-$20 is recommended for the loan. You’re more than welcome to send us a message to see what’s in and what may be checked out, or feel free to stop by our studio and take a peek at all we have.
What Do You Have in the Crafty Library?
Since we just started, our items are limited. However, we currently have:
- Glue guns
- Hole punches (2 sizes)
- Paper cutters
- Stamps
- Flower and tag punch
- Rotary mat
Of course, you can always find a TON of goodies in our freebie pile such as DIY invitations (we just got two boxes of unopened invites yesterday!), paper flowers, candle holders and SO much more!
When Are you Open?
Now that we’re in our gorgeous new studio, our summer hours are:
- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 8pm
- Sunday from noon to 3pm
Have a crafty project but no space? Contact us as we have several large tables and chairs that are perfect for a crafting party!

Great IDEA! I think it is time all the Artistic Folk in North Portland put there heads together and make inroads to a new methods of being creative. This is the best form means to engage others in the idea of not only being creative but thinking creatively. Together we can make a difference.
And, become more self -sufficient.
