Praises

Nikki, January 21, 2013

Thank god for Something Borrowed! We had a tight budget for our small rustic/vintage wedding but wanted to make sure it still looked beautiful and amazing…. Something Borrowed was the solution. They have such cool decorations that you can rent for such an affordable price. We rented log cut-outs, old gas lanterns, lace doilies, cake/pie stands, antlers, mattress spring, old medicine bottles, picture frames, and beautiful glass vases. Something Borrowed allowed us to turn our perfect vision into a reality. Lane (the owner) is super accommodating and can help you find exactly what you’re looking for. I highly recommend perusing Something Borrowed in your search for wedding decorations!

Leslie W., November 1, 2012:

I am a Meeting Planner, so my event was not a wedding, but rather a reception for a group of students at a conference in town. I wanted to rent furnishings, but every other vendor out there had only ultra contemporary items. I really wanted rentals that were comfortable, approachable and felt more like Portland. Something borrowed had EXACTLY what I wanted at a very reasonable price. They were very responsive and friendly and worked with me on the timing of pickup and delivery. I would absolutely use them again if the need arises.

Susan M., October 24, 2012:

“Wonderful supply of vintage rental items so you can achieve just the right look without scouring Goodwill, etc forever. We discovered Something Borrowed late in our process. I had purchased over 1/2 of the table centerpieces (or items that made up the centerpieces) when I looked them up. We rented mercury glass votives, vintage bottles, old windows and photo booth props. They were easy to work with and had a wonderful selection. Best of all, I was able to donate many of the items we had purchased instead of putting them into storage.”

Taylor C., July 25, 2012:

“I Absolutely ADORE somethingborrowedpdx.com. A friend of mine referred me to them and I will continue to refer all of my friends and family there! I’m getting married in September and we have been shooting for a VERY tight budget wedding. We’ve had to get many things donated and we’ve decided to use many USED and/or recycled things because we think it’s silly to spend so much money on things that we will never use again. Both my fiancé and I work, go to school, and manage all of our bills — which is really hard sometimes because I work for a non-paid internship, which means that I’m living off of school grants and scholarships. Somethingborrowedpdx helped me plan for my DREAM wedding without breaking the bank. And their service is just phenomenal! They were so quick to respond and so flexible with their services. Thank you Somethingborrowedpdx!! :)

Meghan, July 4, 2012:

“Something Borrowed was fabulous! She kept me updated on new inventory in case I wanted to add things to my order. Timing was perfect and pick up was great too! Love the inventory they have!”

Amanda J., June 21, 2012:

I am renting from this company for my August wedding. Since my fiance and I are low income, they are offering their services at an extreme discount. It really is thanks to a caring, community businesses like this that I can afford to have my beautiful day. Their selection was perfect, quirky, vintage and lovely. They were also very fast in processing my order and very professional.

Anna W., June 21, 2012:

“Something Borrowed is fantastic!

I was looking for unique details for my wedding without having to scavenge garage and estate sales for months! Something Borrowed has a growing inventory of unique and vintage items and even water glasses for rent!

Lane Bigsby, the owner, was fantastic to work with and communicated great through email to ensure I had what I needed to make all the tiny details come together!

I highly recommend renting from Something Borrowed!”

Sarah M., May 21, 2012:

“As one of the lucky participants in your own wedding, I noticed that you are a master organizer – I remember you telling me, “Look at your spreadsheet. If it’s not on your list it’s on someone else’s, do what’s on your list!!” :) Everything came together perfectly, as if you’d been planning weddings your entire life.

I would recommend having you help coordinate ANY event, as your attention to detail is unbelievable.”

Deborah B., April 18, 2012:

“I have nothing but positive to say about Something Borrowed Portland. They are well organized, & have easy, COVERED, access for loading & unloading. If you are looking for items out of the norm of other rental companies, this is the place to go. We especially enjoyed the multiple colors of sherbet dishes, we used for trail mix on the guest tables. The crates, chalkboards, & glass bottles were wonderful additions to the decor too. Thank you Something Borrowed for helping to make my daughter’s wedding awesome.”

Hannah M., April 16, 2012:

“Borrowing items from you was so easy and the best thing ever. Even though I only took a few items, they would have taken me weeks to find on my own. They were the final touches that we needed!”

Jordan J., March 20, 2012:

“Lane’ and Something Borrowed are awesome! Their amazing vintage decor helped make our wedding a true expression of us! We’ll absolutely be recommending the service to soon-to-be married friends!”
