When asked about one of my favorite “themes”, Steampunk is definitely at the top of that list. So when I was approached to help with a little Steampunk wedding inspiration, I couldn’t help but jump right in! Between the colors, textures and super cool props, how can a gal say no? Allison with Reverie Weddings and Events approached me initially for a few small pieces for an upcoming bridal show, Weddings on the Water, hosted by the Portland Spirit. With a little nudging from Liz at Artisan Cake Company, I was on board (no pun intended). Joining the team to offer her beautiful floral was Kim with Swoon Floral Design. With just about two weeks to prepare, we put our thinking caps on and started brainstorming. What came of the event was something beautiful, magical and did I mention fun? Four tables were decorated with various antiquities and oddities, each a different theme: literary, travel/aviation, vintage tea party, and time. We wanted to set the mood and give guests some amazing Steampunk wedding inspiration, and I think we did so successfully. We also owe a HUGE thank you to Paul Rich Studios who couldn’t have captured our vessel, the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, any better.
