Overview: The Dream Manor Inn sits on a hilltop overlooking the Sonorana desert. From here, you might just see the best sunset of your life. If that’s not a location for fantastic wedding photos, we don’t know what is.

The grounds include plenty of other photogenic spots. There are patios, courtyards and waterfalls.

And while you’re having your hundredth photo taken, your guests can the enjoy spectacular views. A four story observation tower looks out over the surrounding wilderness, offering glimpses of deer, rabbits, squirrels and birds.

The venue offers a bridal dressing room and a “Man Cave” for the groom to get ready. The elegant reception hall provides a spacious location for dinner and dancing.

There’s a wide choice of all-inclusive packages here, providing something for every budget. Catering is provided on-site, and it’s very affordable.

Overall, this is a great value option that looks as if you’ve spent a fortune.

2. SoHo63 ($$$)

Overview: This stylish venue offers something quite different, whether you’re looking for an indoor or outdoor ceremony.

The art deco façade might be borrowed from the 1930s, but once through the doors SoHo63 offers the height of contemporary style. Its modernist aesthetic will be perfect for a couple seeking an elegant and cosmopolitan feel for their wedding.

Outdoors, the Tribeca Terrace will seat up to 175 guests. High sandstone walls surround the space, with bistro lights strung overhead and a beautiful fireplace providing a centerpiece. It can also be used as an extension of the space for evening receptions.

Doors from the terrace lead directly into the Gramercy Ballroom, with its silver floor and modern chandeliers. This will comfortably hold up to 225 seated guests. For an indoor ceremony, there’s also the option of The Plaza, which can seat 200 people.

The venue works with a collective of approved vendors for everything from catering, to photography and hair and beauty. The result is plenty of choice, without having to start from scratch to find something yourself.

3. Red Mountain Ranch Country Club ($)

Overview:  This scenically located country club offers excellent value with either venue-only or all-inclusive options.

Outdoor ceremonies can be held in either the courtyard rotunda or the 18th fairway. Inside, a light and spacious reception room provides seating for up to 170 guests. Large windows offer great views over the surrounding mountains, with city lights sparkling after dark.

The all-inclusive options provide extremely good value. Even the most basic package includes a champagne toast, dinner buffet, appetizer for cocktail hour, a cash bar and a host of accessories. You’ll also get rooms for the bride and groom to get ready, complete with complimentary champagne, cheese and crackers.

More comprehensive packages include music, cake, flowers and a hosted bar. But it’s up to you to choose as much or as little as you want. And the venue can provide recommendations for vendors if you wish to commission them directly.

4. The McCormick Scottsdale ($$$)

Overview: This modern hotel provides a smart setting for weddings – but it’s the location that will leave your guests gasping.

Set alongside Camelback Lake, this is a fantastic spot if you dream of a waterside ceremony. And there are breathtaking views of the lake and soaring mountain from the reception rooms.

For your wedding breakfast and evening reception you can choose from a number of different ballrooms. Or if you prefer, opt for an outdoors celebration where you can drink in the view lit by glowing bistro lights.

There’s no rental fee for receptions, but you will have to pay a fairly steep charge for set up and clearing away. And there’s a minimum spend on catering, for which you’ll have to use the hotel’s in-house team.

The hotel will provide rooms for the bride and groom to get ready, a ceremony arch and podium, a dance floor, and all furniture, linens and tableware. You can use the services of a wedding planner too.

5. Mountain Shadows ($$$)

Overview: If you’re looking for a venue with a great choice of outdoor ceremony locations, Mountain Shadows deserves to make your shortlist.

The lawn offers a spectacular backdrop of mountains and desert. It’s divided into two separate venues, with the north accommodating up to 250 guests, and the south up to 200. Both locations can also be used for dinner and dancing. The north is large enough for 150 guests, and the south for 80.

Smaller options are available too. Rusty’s Patio will accommodate a banquet of up to 120 guests. Inside, Rusty’s Clubhouse offers a more intimate option, seating 40.

The real centrepeice of Mountain Shadows, though, is the Camelback Overlook. Positioned high up, this gives fantastic views over the mountain. It will seat 250 for a wedding ceremony and 200 for dinner and dancing. And the Paradise Ballroom provides an indoor space for evening receptions.

You’ll need to purchase the hotel’s catering here. The gourmet dining is top notch – but it does come at a price. You’ll need deep pockets, but it’s worth it.

6. Anthem Golf & Country Club ($$)

Overview: In the midst of the desert, the lawns and fountains of this golf and country club provide an elegant oasis. It’s possible to have a ceremony-only wedding here, and the fee is modest. If you’re looking to have your reception here too, though, you’ll need to use the in-house catering.

Fortunately, there are plenty of options at different price points, giving you the freedom to keep costs manageable. Just watch out for the minimum spend on food and drink.

The country club can provide a range of amenities to make your day special. There are dressing areas for the bride and groom, a ceremony arch, furniture and the option to upgrade your chairs. Tables, candles, outdoor lighting and a champagne toast are all available.

But the really great thing about this location are the on-site facilities. Brides can enjoy a spa package, while grooms have a golf package. And we’re sure it’s possible to do it the other way around too!

7. The Legacy Golf Club ($$)

Overview: If you’re looking for a venue that combines modern facilities with a sense of history, this could be the one for you. The Legacy Golf Club was once part of the historic estate owned by Dwight B. Heard and stretches over 7,500 acres.

The large clubhouse and extensive grounds offer a wide range of venues for ceremonies and receptions. It’s also a great choice for same sex couples, as a proudly LGBT-friendly business.

You and your guests will enjoy panoramic views over the South Mountain and the Phoenix skyline. And as a setting for outdoor dining, the Sierra Vista House is hard to beat. Here you’ll have private access to a building once visited by Theodore Roosevelt and Poncho Villa.

A wedding planner will work with you to coordinate every aspect of your day, making it unique to you. Catering, including alcohol, must be provided by the venue, and minimum spends apply. You won’t be able to throw confetti, and music must stop by 11pm.

8. The Windmill House ($-$$)

Overview:  Full of wonderful spots for fantastic photos with its 19th century windmills, The Windmill House offers options for all budgets.

It’s easily accessible from nearby Prescott and the surrounding towns and cities of North Arizona. But set in the middle of a private lake, you’ll be able to celebrate in absolute privacy.

Inside, there’s a fabulous ballroom hung with wrought iron chandeliers. A stage at one end provides the perfect place for your musicians, or to celebrate an indoor wedding.

The bridal suite here really is a suite, complete with its own kitchen for refreshments.  Catering and alcohol must be provided by the venue, but there’s a wide range to suit most budgets. And amplified music is permitted both indoors and outdoors, though it must end by 11.30pm.

9. Seven Canyons ($$$)

Overview: With its exposed beams, hardwood floors and blazing fires, Seven Canyons has the feel of a colonial clubhouse. But although the interiors are luxurious, it’s the views that are the star of the show here.

Seven Canyons sits in 200 acres of grounds, surrounded by red rock canyons. Make the most of the views with an outdoor ceremony, or exchange your vows in the glamorous clubhouse. Later, nestle around one of the many firepits on the terrace to watch the sunset.

This is an expensive option. You’ll be required to engage a wedding planner, and there are minimum spend requirements for food and drink. Alcohol and catering must be provided in-house, and the venue will need to approve all decorations. If you’re prepared to pay for it, though, the service is first class.

Amplified music can be played indoors and out, but must stop at 11.30pm.

10. The Z Mansion ($-$$)

Overview: Built by Arizona’s richest family in 1898, the Z Mansion harks back to the grandeur of the Victorian era.

Its grounds provide beautiful fountains and arches to act as centerpieces for your outdoor ceremony.  And once inside, enjoy the sumptuous interiors with paneled doors, rich wallcoverings and polished hardwood floors.

The house and grounds can accommodate groups of up to 250 with ease. The major restriction here is availability. It’s still a private residence, so is only offered to hire on selected dates each month.

It’s well worth planning ahead to secure your booking, because despite the stunning surroundings, weddings here don’t cost a fortune. There are a wide variety of packages available, with payment plans if you’d like to spread the cost. And you’ll have absolute freedom to choose from the venue’s list of recommended vendors, or to bring in your own.
