Designing with Spring Blooms
Are you planning your own wedding or do you work in the wedding and events industry and have always wanted to learn the art of flower arranging? You are invited to join Something Borrowed Portland and professional florist and designer Kim Dodrill from Swoon Floral Design to create your own spring bloom bouquet.
In this hands-on class, you will learn the tricks and techniques to create a lush, garden-style centerpiece. Florist and Designer Kim with Swoon Floral Design will share her process of choosing the perfect bloom and greens, how she approaches color palettes, and creating visual interest in an arrangement. You will get to experiment with design to create a beautiful take-home bouquet!
This workshop is ideal for a beginner who wants to gain confidence with floral design or for the DIY couple.
In this workshop you will learn:
- The mechanics needed to create a beautiful centerpiece.
- How to properly prepare your blooms for arranging.
- Tips for choosing the perfect blooms and greenery.
- How to create a sophisticated color palette.
About the Instructor
Kim Dodrill is a Portland native and owner of Swoon Floral Design. With a background in interior design and horticulture, Swoon allows Kim to combine her passion for flowers and foliage, color, texture and fabulous spaces by creating one of a kind arrangements for some of the most beautiful events in Oregon. Swoon is known for creating organic, lush, and romantic designs, using local blooms and supporting local farmers whenever possible.
